About this Product
Alpha Lock with Imidacloprid 75WP is a wettable powder formulation with 75% Imidacloprid, used as a broad-spectrum termiticide. It works by disrupting the central nervous system of insects, making it effective for termite control. The product is applied by mixing with water and is commonly used for treating soil & wood. While it has low toxicity for humans, It offers long-lasting protection against termites when applied properly.
Imidacloprid is effective against a wide range of termite species. These include:
- Subterranean Termites (Coptotermes, Reticulitermes, Heterotermes species): Most common and destructive termites that live underground and build mud tubes.
- Drywood Termites (Cryptotermes, Incisitermes species): Live inside dry wood and do not require contact with soil or moisture sources.
- Dampwood Termites (Zootermopsis, Neotermes species): Prefer damp, decaying wood and are generally larger than other termites.
- Formosan Termites (Coptotermes formosanus):
A highly aggressive species of subterranean termites, often referred to as “super termites.”
Usage :
When using Imidacloprid 75WP as a termiticide, it acts as a powerful tool for controlling termite infestations. Here’s a concise guide on its application methods and best practices:
Termite Control (Pre- and Post-Construction):
1-Pre-Construction:
Soil Treatment: The Imidacloprid solution is applied to the soil before laying the foundation. This creates a chemical barrier, preventing subterranean termites from entering the structure.
Method: Mix the powder with water (0.1%–0.5% concentration) and spray over the soil surface or in trenches around the foundation.
2-Post-Construction:
Soil Injection: For existing structures, holes are drilled along the foundation perimeter, and the solution is injected into the soil.
Trenching: Trenches are dug around the foundation, and the solution is poured in, ensuring penetration into termite-prone areas.
Surface Application: Imidacloprid can be sprayed or brushed onto exposed wooden structures to prevent drywood or dampwood termites.
Injection: For severe infestations, the solution is injected directly into the termite galleries inside the wood
